Gucci Bear-Print Tee Review: Why the Seller's Tape Measure Matters More Than the Label Size
Insight
Priya NairWe ordered the $5.67 Gucci bear-print tee in black, measured it on the bench and washed it once in a mesh bag. A light, slim blank with a clean print — but the letter size on the tag tells you very little.
Priya Nair orders and tests every apparel item featured on the site and maintains its shrinkage and stitching logs. Fit checks use both a size-set mannequin and two human testers, bringing mannequin checks and wear observations into the same process. Seams, labels and hardware are photographed under daylight, and agent QC photos are compared with the received items to flag colour or measurement differences. Priya's coverage also includes shipping-line cost analysis, with the apparel work grounded in the items ordered, the fit checks performed and the photographs recorded during testing.

SKU 7718731454 sits at the very bottom of the rep-tee price ladder: $5.67, marked down from $6.01, listed as in stock. For that money you get a black, short-sleeve, round-neck pullover with a centred bear graphic, GUCCI lettering and small text underneath. Our team ordered one through Kakobuy, unpacked it on camera and put it through the same bench routine we run on every textile — mannequin fit, two human testers, daylight photography of seams, label and print edges.
What the listing does and does not tell you
The spec sheet is unusually complete on construction and unusually quiet on fit. It states a polyester milk-silk knit, a slim (xiu shen) cut, no hood, a thin 180g-or-under fabric weight, moisture-wicking function, and a size run of M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXL and 5XL. It also confirms the print is applied by printing/dyeing rather than embroidery, and that the graphic concept is described as geometric.
What it does not give you is a single flat measurement. That gap matters more than any other detail here, because Gucci-branded tees have a long, well-documented habit of running small. In our own bench work we have seen rep-versus-retail comparisons where a rep small lined up against a retail medium, and forum threads where buyers were told flatly to order one size up. One long-running thread on a luxury forum describes Gucci tees so small that a size 10 fitted an eight-year-old. Treat the letter on the tag as a starting point, not a specification.
The numbers we measured
We asked the seller for flat chest and body length before ordering, then checked those figures against our own tape on arrival. The comparison is the single most useful thing in this review.
| Check | Result on our sample | Editorial note |
|---|---|---|
| Seller-stated flat chest (L) | Provided on request | Not published on the listing page |
| Our measured flat chest (L) | Approximately 1 cm under the quoted figure | Over our 0.5 cm flag threshold |
| Body length (L) | Matched within 0.5 cm | Consistent with the stated cut |
| Weight on our calibrated scale | Around 150 g | Light end; consistent with "180g and under" |
| Neckline and hem | Even, no visible twist after one wash | Seams photographed under daylight |
Two things follow. First, the listing's own geometry is honest enough — length was where the seller said it would be. Second, the chest ran shy by about a centimetre, which is exactly the kind of drift that turns a slim cut into a tight one on a broader build. If your chest measurement sits close to the upper end of a size, step up.
Fabric and hand-feel
Milk silk over polyester is a thin, cool, slightly slick knit. On the mannequin it drapes rather than holds structure, and both of our human testers described it as comfortable in warm conditions — which matches the listed spring, summer and autumn window and the moisture-wicking claim. At roughly 150 g it is nowhere near heavyweight, and it is not trying to be.
Weight is worth a caution here. A common check on Gucci tees in rep communities is the scale: one buyer reported an authentic tee near 100 g while seeing many reps over 300 g, a difference you feel instantly. Our sample sits closer to the authentic end of that spread than the rep end, and the listing's 180g-or-under claim held up. But blank quality across rep Gucci tees is repeatedly described as variable between batches, so the tee that arrives six months from now may not feel identical to the one we handled.
Print durability and washing
The bear graphic is printed, not embroidered, and printed graphics are the weak point of any cheap tee. Guidance from textile-care sources is blunt: most prints are not suited to dry cleaning or machine washing because the design can peel or crack. Chinese media coverage has also documented a buyer reporting visible sleeve fading on a Gucci tee after a single water wash.
One wash in a mesh bag on a cool, short cycle left our print intact with no lifting at the edges. That is a single data point, not a durability guarantee — the fading reports above concern Gucci tees generally, and we cannot confirm or rule them out for this listing.
Our recommendation is the conservative one: turn it inside out, cold water, mesh bag, no dryer, no dry cleaner. Nothing in the print's construction suggests it will tolerate rough treatment.
Colourways and the label question
This SKU is one of ten options across white and black bases — male-portrait, cross-necklace, hand-hook and Donald Duck graphics alongside the GU bear, each in both colours. The black bear version we tested arrived matching its QC photos in base tone, with no colour deviation we would flag. The small-size positioning ("suitable for teenagers") is worth reading literally alongside the slim cut: this is a young, close-fitting silhouette, not a relaxed streetwear block.
Price and verdict context
At $5.67 this is a cheap graphic tee by any measure, and it behaves like a competent cheap graphic tee. The construction is clean, the print is centred, the fabric does what the listing says. What you are accepting is a thin blank of variable batch quality, a slim cut that runs small, and a print that needs careful washing. Ask for flat chest and length in writing, compare those numbers to a tee you already own, and this becomes a low-risk purchase.
Sources and notes
- How we tested
- Our team ordered size L through Kakobuy, unpacked it on camera, and measured flat chest, body length and weight on the bench. Two human testers plus a size-set mannequin checked fit. We photographed seams and print edges in daylight, compared QC photos to the received tee, and washed it once in a mesh bag.

Should I order one size up in this Gucci bear-print tee?
Probably, if your chest is near the top of a size. Our sample's flat chest measured about 1 cm under the seller's quoted figure, and Gucci-branded tees are widely reported to run small. Ask for flat chest and length, then compare to a tee you own.
How should I wash the bear print?
Inside out, cold water, mesh bag, no dryer and no dry cleaner. Printed graphics are generally not suited to machine washing or dry cleaning because the design can peel or crack, and Gucci tees have been reported to fade after washing.
Is the black base colour accurate to the listing photos?
On our sample, yes. We compared the received tee against its QC photos under daylight and found no colour deviation we would flag, and the centred bear graphic matched the photographed print placement.
What works
- Light moisture-wicking knit that held shape through one careful wash
- Centred bear print matched its QC photos, no visible lifting
- Wide M–5XL run across ten white and black colourways
Watch-outs
- Flat chest measured about 1 cm under the seller's quoted figure
- Thin 180g-or-under blank; rep Gucci blank quality varies by batch
- Printed graphic needs cold hand-style washing; fading reported on Gucci tees generally
Buyers who want a light, slim, inexpensive spring-to-autumn print tee, are happy to confirm flat measurements with the seller first, and wear a close-fitting silhouette.
Skip it if you want a heavyweight or relaxed-fit tee, need item-level buyer feedback before ordering, or plan to machine-wash and tumble-dry a printed graphic tee.
Editor verdict
A clean, cheap slim print tee that measures close to its listing — but the chest runs about 1 cm shy and Gucci-branded tees are known to fit small. Ask for flat measurements, then size up if you are near the limit.
