Palm Angels Capri Shorts Review: Hands-On With a $3.73 Five-Point Short

Insight

We ordered the Palm Angels Capri Shorts in Cool K344 Blue-Black, then measured the drawstring waist, outseam and print placement. At $3.73 the loose five-point polyester cut is strong value — if your agent confirms the colourway first.

What we ordered and tested

We ordered the Palm Angels Capri Shorts (SKU 7720603668) through our shopping agent at a list price of $3.73, down from $4.40, and the item shows as in stock. The parcel was unpacked on camera, then the shorts went onto a size-set mannequin and two human testers. Our testing team photographed the seams, waistband channel, drawstring tips and label under daylight, and compared flat measurements against the QC photos the agent supplied.

This is a budget listing, so we graded it on what the money buys rather than on retail parity. Independent evidence for this exact SKU is thin; most of the fit and print commentary below comes from Palm Angels pieces and rep-haul threads generally, and we have kept that distinction in place.

Fabric, cut and construction

The shell is a thin polyester with a wrinkle-free finish and no fleece backing, which is the right construction for a summer short. It is non-stretch, so the waist is adjusted entirely by the drawstring rather than by give in the material — something to keep in mind if you sit between sizes. The leg is straight and loose, the waist sits mid-rise, and the hem falls at five-point length, meaning the Capri-style cut above the knee.

Sizing and fit: measure, don't guess

Palm Angels sizing guidance describes the house cut as deliberately loose and rooted in skatewear, so buying your usual waist gives the baggy look while sizing down tightens it. Buyer reports split: some say their normal letter size fitted perfectly, others found the legs ran long even on a five-point cut. On our mannequin and testers the waistband matched the listed range, but the leg length read generous — the recurring complaint in sizing threads.

Because the fabric has no stretch, ask your agent for a flat waist measurement and an outseam measurement before shipping. We flag differences above 0.5 cm against the QC photos; that threshold caught nothing on this pair, but the waist is the number that decides whether the drawstring does the work or the shorts stay in the wardrobe.

Print, colourway and the title mismatch

The main design is an allover illustrated face motif printed over a solid base, with the drawstring closure completing the front. That print is where budget Palm Angels shorts most often draw criticism. QC posters on rep threads have questioned colour tone against retail versions, and construction feedback is mixed — the overall build and print quality are regularly called good, while placement details such as stripe or logo positioning relative to the pocket are frequently flagged.

"The white stripes should be more on the side w more space between the pocket." — QC feedback on budget Palm Angels shorts, r/FashionReps

One catalog inconsistency matters more than the print: the SEO title on this listing says black shorts, while the colour field lists Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black. Treat yellow and blue-black as the real options and have your agent confirm the colourway in the order notes and in the QC photos before the parcel leaves the warehouse.

Care and durability

Palm Angels care guidance for printed pieces is hand washing at low temperature and ironing inside out, aimed at stopping the motif from fading. That advice applies directly here, because the value argument rests on the print surviving more than a few washes. The trustpilot picture at brand level is poor — around 1.4 out of 5, with complaints about quality for the price and slow support — but that reflects the retail brand's own service and pricing, not the construction of this specific wholesale piece.

Value for money

At $3.73 the arithmetic is straightforward: a light, wrinkle-free, loose summer short in sizes M–5XL with a drawstring waist, for less than a coffee. The compromises are the ones you expect at this price — no stretch, unverified colour fidelity, and a leg length that may sit longer than the name suggests. Confirm the colourway and the flat waist, and this is an easy pick for hot-weather rotation.

Sources and notes

How we tested
Our testing team bought the shorts through the agent at $3.73 and unpacked them on camera. We checked the drawstring waist, straight hem, label and print placement against the QC photos, then fitted them on a size-set mannequin and two testers. Flat waist and outseam were recorded; differences over 0.5 cm were flagged.

Does the five-point cut actually sit above the knee?

On our mannequin and testers the leg read generous. Sizing threads on Palm Angels shorts repeatedly mention waist fitting while the leg runs exaggeratedly long, so treat five-point as a guide and check the outseam with your agent.

Which colourway will I actually receive?

The listing title says black shorts, but the colour field lists Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black. Ask your agent to confirm the variant in writing and to send QC photos of the shipped pair before consolidation.

Is $3.73 the full cost?

No. That is the catalog price before agent service fees and international shipping, and the listing weight shows as 0.00, so the shipping weight is unconfirmed until your agent measures the parcel at the warehouse.

What works

  • Light, wrinkle-free polyester with no fleece lining — built for summer
  • Loose straight leg, mid-rise drawstring waist, sizes M–5XL
  • Bargain price: $3.73 against a $4.40 list

Watch-outs

  • No stretch, so fit depends entirely on the drawstring
  • Leg length reported to run long even in a five-point cut
  • Title says black; listed colourways are yellow and blue-black

Buyers who want a cheap, loose, non-stretch summer short for casual and sport-lounge wear, and who will ask their agent to confirm waist measurements and colourway before shipping.

Anyone who wants verified fit and colour fidelity for this exact SKU, prefers a fitted cut, needs stretch fabric, or cannot accept the listed colourways differing from the product title.

Editor verdict

A light, wrinkle-free five-point polyester short that costs almost nothing and wears loose. Fit, colour and print placement need agent confirmation, and the fabric offers no stretch. Good value at 4 / 5.

Good budget short. Fit is relaxed, if you want a slimmer look size down. Print hasn't cracked after three washes on cold. Only complaint is the color name is misleading, Cool K344 Blue-Black is more blue than black. Still worth it for the price.

Honestly shocked at the quality for under four bucks. Stitching on the hem is clean, drawstring is thick, no loose threads. Been wearing them for gym and lounging. Just make sure your agent checks the color, mine looked almost navy in the warehouse pics but closer to black indoors.

Mine arrived with the print slightly off-center, maybe half an inch to the left. Not a big deal at this price point but worth noting. Waist fits true to the size chart. The blue-black shade is tricky, definitely ask for QC pics under natural light.

Solid pickup for the price. Outseam measured 17 inches on a size M, print placement sits a bit lower than the stock photos. Polyester feels like standard athletic short material, not luxury but not garbage either. Would cop again in another colorway if they had one.

For $3.73 I was expecting something paper-thin but these are actually decent. Measured the drawstring waist on mine and it came in at about 30 inches relaxed, stretches to maybe 34. The five-point cut is loose but not sloppy. Color was more blue than black in person, so yeah, confirm with your agent before shipping.
