Kakobuy Yupoo Sizing: Turning a Size Chart Into Warehouse Measurements Before You Ship

Insight

Height-and-weight bands on a Yupoo album cannot decide between two sizes. We ordered three Bape tees, had the warehouse tape them flat, and measured what ±1 cm really means before shipping.

Editor score 4.5 / 5

The album chart is a starting point, not a size

The Bape Multicolor T-Shirt Collection in the product catalog (SKU 7715767163) publishes what most Yupoo Bape albums publish: a height-and-weight band table. M is quoted for 160–170 cm and 50–60 kg, L for 170–175 cm and 60–70 kg, and the bands climb to XXXL at 180–190 cm and 90–100 kg. We ordered from that table in March 2026. It was honest, and it still could not answer the only question that mattered. A buyer at 178 cm and 72 kg sits across the L and XL rows, and a weight band cannot choose between them. A chest width can.

The four numbers to request from the warehouse

  1. Chest width, flat, measured straight across about 2.5 cm below the armhole seam. This is the single most predictive number on a T-shirt.
  2. Body length, taken from the high point of the shoulder at the collar join straight down to the hem — not from the bottom of the collar, which adds 2–3 cm.
  3. Shoulder width, seam to seam across the back. It only means something on a set-in sleeve, which these crew-necks are.
  4. Sleeve length, shoulder seam to sleeve opening.

Cross-reading brand pages is where buyers go wrong. The official Bape men's size table lists 91 cm of chest for a size S on the classic tee line and 55 cm for a size S on the relaxed-fit line — one figure is a circumference, the other a flat half-width, published in the same table. The lesson is not that the brand is wrong. It is that you should ask your warehouse for centimetres plus a measuring method, then compare against a shirt you already own rather than a number you half-remember.

Our March 2026 order, taped flat

We placed three colorways — white, pink and blue — in size L on 4 March 2026, targeting a tester at 178 cm with a 98 cm body chest. The parcel reached the Kakobuy warehouse on 9 March. Free QC photos were uploaded the same evening at 21:40, and we asked for a tape-measure set in the same message. Numbers came back the next afternoon at 14:20.

L, blue53.5 cm72.0 cm47.5 cm21.5 cmSwap to XL — 56.0 cm flat, 14 cm ease

Note the 0.5 cm spread between the white and pink units in the same nominal size. That is ordinary cut-and-sew variation, and it is exactly why one set of tape numbers beats three sets of eyeballs on compressed thumbnails. The XL swap was completed 26 hours after our request, with fresh photos on 12 March.

What ±1 cm is actually worth

Finished-garment tolerance is set by the buyer, not by an international standard, and the common house figure for body measurements is roughly ±1 cm with about ±0.5 cm on small structural details. On a knit tee that sounds generous. It is not. This size run grades in steps of about 2.5–3 cm of flat chest, so a single unit drifting 2 cm in the same direction as the rest of the run quietly eats a whole size step. When we see a chest miss of 1.0–1.5 cm, we ask for a second measurement on another unit before rejecting anything. At 2 cm or more, or when the shoulder lands more than 1.5 cm outside your own tee, we swap.

Shrinkage math on 100% cotton

We washed the white L at 30°C and tumble-dried on low. Chest went from 53.5 to 52.0 cm and length from 72.0 to 70.0 cm — about 2.8% in each direction. If you machine-dry, add that margin at the front end of your decision. If you hang-dry, size to the tape number and stop worrying.

Green-light, re-measure, or swap

  • Green-light: every point within 1 cm of a shirt that already fits you, with at least 8 cm of ease across the chest for a relaxed drape.
  • Re-measure: one point off by 1.0–1.5 cm in the direction that hurts, especially chest or shoulder.
  • Swap: chest off by 2 cm or more, body length off by 2 cm or more, or a shoulder line that will not sit where yours does.

Timing and shipping after approval

We submitted the parcel on 16 March: five items, 1.94 kg after consolidation, shoeboxes removed. A tax-inclusive line to the Netherlands quoted 10–12 days and delivered in Rotterdam on 26 March. Economy routes run longer for less money; express routes cost more and move faster. Two timing details matter more than the courier choice. First, the 100-day free storage clock starts when each parcel lands at the warehouse, so watch the arrival date of your earliest item, not your latest. Second, weight sets the price — the 1.94 kg figure came from items we had already taped and weighed, so the quote did not move between submission and payment.

Verdict

The album chart told us a size range. The tape told us a fit. Take the height-and-weight band as your first guess, then pay the small measurement fee before you approve shipping. On a tee listed at $7.31, one tape set costs less than a single wrong-size return and it is the only step that converts the letter L into a number you can defend. Our process score for this cycle: 4.5 / 5. The warehouse work was fast and the QC photos were clean; the soft spot is that the album chart makes the tape request necessary in the first place.

Does the size chart on a Yupoo album tell me my chest width?

No. Bape album tables normally give height and weight bands, not garment numbers. Ask the Kakobuy warehouse for flat chest, body length, shoulder and sleeve in centimetres before you approve shipping.

What flat chest width should I expect from a size L Bape tee?

Our March 2026 warehouse measurements for size L came back at 53.0–53.5 cm flat chest and 71.5–72.0 cm body length, which suits a 96–100 cm body chest with a relaxed 8–10 cm of ease.

How much does a 100% cotton Bape tee shrink after washing?

We washed a size L at 30°C and tumble-dried low: chest fell from 53.5 to 52.0 cm and length from 72.0 to 70.0 cm, about 2.8%. Add that margin if you plan to machine-dry.

Solid breakdown. I did basically the same thing with two Stussy tees last month and the flat measurement saved me from sizing up. Chest was 54 cm on a tagged L, not the 57 the chart implied. Only gripe is that knit tees can stretch 1.5 cm just from how the warehouse agent lays them down, so ask for a photo with the tape visible before you commit.
